AI Content Selection Intermediate
Einstein Content Selection automatically chooses the best content asset for each subscriber at the moment they open an email. Instead of sending the same content to everyone, the AI selects from a pool of content options based on subscriber preferences, past engagement, and contextual signals.
How Content Selection Works
Create Content Pool
Upload multiple content assets (images, offers, articles) to Einstein Content Selection. These are the options the AI will choose from.
Define the Content Block
Place an Einstein Content Selection block in your email template where you want personalized content to appear.
AI Selects at Open Time
When a subscriber opens the email, Einstein evaluates their profile and engagement history to select the most relevant content asset in milliseconds.
Learn and Improve
Einstein tracks which content drives the most engagement per subscriber segment and continuously refines its selection algorithm.
Content Selection Use Cases
| Use Case | Content Pool | AI Optimization Goal |
|---|---|---|
| Product recommendations | Product images and links by category | Maximize click-through rate |
| Promotional offers | Different discount levels and offer types | Maximize conversion rate |
| Content marketing | Blog posts, guides, videos by topic | Maximize content engagement |
| Hero banners | Different creative variants and messages | Maximize visual engagement |
Best Practices
- Provide enough options: Include at least 3-5 content assets per content block so the AI has meaningful choices
- Vary meaningfully: Content options should differ in substance, not just minor variations. Different product categories, topics, or offer types work best.
- Tag content: Add metadata tags to content assets so Einstein can better match content to subscriber preferences
- Monitor performance: Review Einstein's content selection analytics to understand which content resonates with which segments
